Mangoes, anyone??

My children love mangoes!
They beg for them all the time when we have them.
Don W. brought a whole big box of them from their home in L. We were all thrilled!
Mangoes... anytime... any way...
anywhere... :-)

:-)

Here's your laugh for the day. :-)

It was nap time and Weston, hoping to get out of a nap, asked Yeye if he may stay up. Yeye told him, "Al mande Mommy" (Go ask Mommy).  He came to me with a strange request, "Mommy, Yeye said I should bite you." Bite me? Ok... Haitians do bite each other (gently) in a show of affection... whatever... He bit my cheek and ran off to play, but I burst out laughing as it dawned on me how he misunderstood what Yeye told him! In Weston's mind "mande" (ask), and "mode" (bite) were way too close! :-) So that's how he got, "Go bite Mommy"!!!!

On the front porch this morning...

Wouldn't you like see this sweetheart on your porch??? :-)
A bowlful of puppies... :-) There's 6 of 'em - and I think they're ALL in there. And yes, that is their feeding dish they're sleeping in. :P

The story of the egg...

Well... our doors are open almost all the time. (Who ever heard of a screen door?) We have some chickens. Some of them cannot be convinced that the open door is not an invitation to lay their eggs where it's convenient! This young hen decided that the boys' room is just the perfect place to lay eggs. Yesterday morning just after breakfast, I heard this hen cackling in the bedroom...
We went on an egg hunt... and sure enough, there was the warm egg nestled in the drawer among the boy's pjs!!! After all, could she pick a softer nest? I'm not very impressed... :-/
Weston begged to hold it...
And his mommy laughed and laughed at the expression on his face after she took this one!!! :-)

Can you believe it?

Elaine's and Bethany's birthdays are back to back, so naturally they celebrate them together. Bethany's birthday was celebrated with a special meal, and the next day was the cake :-)... I find it so hard to believe that it is already 5 years since Elaine was that tiny 4 lb 6 oz baby, fighting for her life, I am in awe when I see her master the skill of riding a bike before her 5th birthday and realize that she still has a lot of that fight in her. :-)
And 10 years since Bethany was that little girl dying of malnutrition?!
Who would believe it now?
All I can say is God is SO GOOD!!!

Bethany is thrilled to be 10. :-)
Elaine loved the cake and the party, but 5 is just another year. Maybe it'll look different once she hits the "big  1-0"!!! :-)
