Just us

For our prayer card this year, I did individual pictures of all the children, but I discovered that it just doesn't take the place of an all together picture. So this is our attempt at an all-together-one after we got home from church today... :-)

Jonathan is 5!

Where does time get to? It's so hard to believe that Jonathan is 5 already! Nearly 5 years since they showed up at my door with a 7 month old baby who needed a home? He was slightly malnourished, and definitely behind... couldn't do anything himself except hold his head. He was sick when he came, and since he was the oldest of any of my babies when they came, I was glad for the chance to bond with him while he was sick... he was more than glad to just be cuddled and held. I had been a little worried about that, because I already had a month old baby, and I didn't want to lose the chance of bonding with Jonathan just because I had a young preemie that still took a lot of time! It wasn't long before he learned to sit and do more on his own. Today he is such a sweet little guy, very quick to be a peace maker, and he is just the opposite of Kenneth - he definitely prefers to be inside rather than outside! He has an extremely good memory, and loves to sing.
Happy Birthday, Jonathan! We are so thankful that God brought you into our lives and I can't wait to see what all God has for you! We love you! Blessings on you, little man!

Goat Rides

I looked out the door one morning to see my boys giving the goat a ride! The goat didn't seem to mind, so I thought I'd let them play with him for a while. But their fun didn't last long. When my neighbor came along, she took the goat and tied him back up again!!! :-)

Here's what the children are doing this morning. :-)

They're "butchering a cow" ;-) Their cow is an old banana plant, and they sure are going at the butchering process with great enthusiasm! They first said it was just a boy's project, but then they decided that Elaine can help them too! :)

I'm sorry about the quality of the pictures these days... Mobile devices sure are nice and handy, but it doesn't beat the real thing... This is all I can do until I get my computer back... One thing I will say for mobile devices is that posting is SO easy!!!! My cousin kindly allowed me to use the pictures he took with his phone while they were here... :-) The children still play with their trike all the time - there's no end to what you can do with a trike!!!

A few pictures...

Here's a few pictures from around here... the last is a picture of our bathroom wall. Cherise cut out the verse and sent it down... love it! Thanks, Cherise!
The other two pictures are of our newly painted schoolroom, and the new porch with the grates up!

Still here!!!

Good morning from the mountains!

It's been silent on here, I know, and I'm sorry. Life around here has been SO busy! My computer has issues and I did a system recovery in hopes that it would fix itself. But that didn't help, so my pictures that I've been wanting to post stay on  my external hard drive till my computer gets fixed.

Speaking of hard drives...Michael was with me while I was transferring files off my computer and I asked him to get my external hard drive. As he brought it he wondered if he needs one when he learns to drive??!!

The work is getting done! Dad and Carl worked so hard to get all the grates for the porch welded and put up. Mom and Esther painted and painted! Today they are working at getting primer on all the grates so they don't rust before we get them painted. Dad and Carl just got everything hooked up, so we can pump water directly from the cistern right to the barrel on the roof!!!!

Everyone is well, except Weston has a cold. But he is feeling better. We are so blessed! God is so good!

Hope to figure out some way to post some pictures of the work soon!
