A special meal...

The girls were really anxious to have fish for dinner again. So we bought some at market.
The children were totally intrigued watching Yeye prepare it.
Cleaned and washed with citron, not they're ready to be marinated...
then dredged in flour, and fried...
The girls also made red beet salad. That's a favorite with me. It's made with red beets, potatoes, carrots, peas, corn, and tastes very much like potato salad in the States...
The fried fish and plantain...
The girls wanted their pictures taken with their special dishes... They also made rice & beans, but that was too "everyday" to take a picture with it!!! :) The children loved the fish - it was the highlight of their day! :)

Wow! That looks delicious! The red beet salad looks interestingly good. Do you give out the recipe? I love rice and beans, too. Tell the girls to include a pic of them next time for us "northerners"!
