Coming along!

Thought you all would enjoying seeing the progress on the addition... The roof was just poured on Friday! I don't have pictures of that yet, though...

Fort Garit

I thought you all would enjoy pictures that my brothers took of the ruins of the French Fort Garit that they explored last month... It's about a 4 hour hike from here, even though we can see it easily from our house...
Legend has it that the walls are still standing because the French killed anyone who opposed them, and mixed their blood with the concrete...
History intrigues me greatly... Don't you wish sometimes that walls could talk, and tell you all the stories of bygone days???

More Addition Pictures...

I am sorry I am so behind on my posting... Seems like everything is happening so fast, and I don't have the time to keep you all posted... In these pictures, the bosses poured the top of the cistern...
...Should I even admit what it looks like now??? The walls are up most of the way, and we're hoping to have the roof poured in another 2 weeks or so!
The foundation walls...
And this old relic is the dump truck that's been hauling our supplies up the mountain for us... This is the way all the block, cement and steel came... There's a sand pit about a mile from us, that we hauled most of our sand from, but the sand is running out back there, so we're having some hauled from TG too.
Mixing cement... or talking???
It will be so nice to be able to use the cistern, and that won't be any too soon. We've been hauling our water from several miles away, because it hasn't rained in so long that the springs are drying up.
This last picture shows a little more progress... I think Cherise took some current pictures today that I hope to post soon...

Here's what the children are up to!

Cherise H. is helping me out this winter in the house. I've been so glad for her help already! Here the children are enjoying a story with her. (Amy S., do you notice the wall? Thanks for the ideas!! :) )
Jared giving Cherlise a ride in the wheelbarrow.

Somehow Weston snagged someone's hat! :)

Looks like a nest of little birds don't they? Cherise was sharing out some after supper treat. :)

The fence...

Hello from TR! The fence is done! Sorry, I've taken so long to get these pictures posted, but I'll try to get 'em all posted over the next week or so. :) Many thanks to the team from Indiana for their hard work!

The children loved being able to go out and watch the progress - or even try their own hands at helping.

Thanksgiving Project...

I know this is way late, but I just didn't have time to post these pictures before, and now I'm just making the time... :)

Lor's sister sent down the ingredients to make these turkeys, and the school children just LOVED creating them...
 Weston had fun taste-testing! :)

We used the turkeys in a treasure on Thanksgiving day, but I'm afraid you'll have to wait for another day to see those pictures!
